Glitnir Copenhagen Marathon May 14 to May 19, 2008

The Capital of Denmark invites you to join this spectacular run through the City Center of Copenhagen in the spring time. The run
passes through some of the historical highlights of Copenhagen like the little Mermaid, the Royal Castle, the majestic Town Hall and
the Tivoli Gardens. The whole City is supporting the runners and en route there will be entertainment and bands encouraging the runners.
The route also goes through some of the charming suburbs of Copenhagen, where the new design and trendy shops sparkle. The
terrain is relatively flat and the run itself takes place on the streets of Copenhagen, finishing at the new modern Royal Library by the
old harbor.

We offer a basic 3-nights package  with a possibility of an extension of 2 extra nights in Wonderful Copenhagen. The program is very suitable also for non-runners and family members. If you wish to stay longer, we customize the package for you.
 

Package 1 – Day to day program:
Friday – Welcome to Copenhagen
Transfer from Copenhagen Airport to hotel. There will be a short briefing and hand out of start numbers and general information.
The rest of the day is at leisure. No meals included.

Saturday – Half day tour
After enjoying breakfast, we will pick you up and do a city tour to see the course of the Copenhagen Marathon. We will stop en route
at the Royal Castle and at The little Mermaid. The tour ends at midday and there is time in the afternoon to enjoy the City on your own.
We will give some ideas of what to see and buy. Breakfast included.

Sunday – Copenhagen Marathon
The run starts in the morning and The Copenhagen Marathon follows a course starting and finishing near the Royal Library, The
Black Diamond. It will take runners past the old as well as the new districts in the city.

The Marathon run will be free of traffic and will give runners and spectators a chance to meet more than once along the scenic 42,195
km course which stretches past numerous sights and landmarks in Copenhagen. No transfers included, as many roads have been closed
off, but the start/finish line is only 1-2 km from the hotels. After the run there will be an official award ceremony.
In the Evening it is time to enjoy and celebrate the results. A delicious 3 courses dinner in the beautiful Tivoli Gardens in a relaxed
atmosphere. Tivoli Gardens is walking distance from the hotels (1 km), so no transfers included. Breakfast and Dinner included.

Monday
After Breakfast check out and transfer to Copenhagen Airport.
 

Package 2 – Day to day program:
Wednesday – Arrival
Welcome to Copenhagen. Transfer from Copenhagen Airport to your hotel. There will be a short briefing and hand out of start
numbers and general information. The rest of the day is at leisure. No meals included.

Thursday – North Zealand Tour
The tour will start at Louisiana Museum of Modern art. This famous museum is situated in a spacious, old park with a magnificent view
to Sweden. It is known for its masterpieces of the Cobra Art Group and the Giacometti sculptures.
After Louisiana the tour will pass by Fredensborg Castle – the Queen’s official summer residence and the biggest and most impressive
renaissance castle in Denmark, built in the early 1600. We return to Copenhagen early afternoon. Breakfast included.

Friday
Day at your leisure in Copenhagen. Breakfast included.
Saturday-Monday will be as in Package 1.

More than 90 days prior: $100 USD
45-90 days prior: 50% of package.
15-44 days prior: 80% of package.0-14 days prior: No

The Town Hall Square is within walking  distance. The hotel has 201 rooms.
