COMRADES MAY 31, 2012 to JUNE 5, 2012

 

The Comrades marathon is a 56 mile race between Pietermaritzburg and Durban  which attracts thousands of runners every year and has been in existence since 1921.
PACKAGE ITINERARY

Day 1. Thursday 31 May 2012
On arrival at Durban King Shaka Airport you proceed to the arrivals area for
your transport to Durban City Lodge where you will check in and stay for the
next 3 nights. During the day you can take a stroll at your leisure to the
Durban Exhibition Centre for race registration and shop/feel the vibe at the
Expo !
The rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 2. Friday 1 June 2012
Day at leisure. If you didn't register yesterday, perhaps do this today. Or
take the organized bus tour of the race route (refer to the marathon
organizers for more details).

Day 3. Saturday 2 June 2012
During the afternoon we will travel by coach to Pietermaritzburg (journey time +/- 1 hour). Please note
only one small bag is permitted. Any excess luggage will need to be stored in the storage room at Durban City Lodge. Check in at
Golden Horse Casino Hotel. Relax, prepare kit and self for the next day !

Day 4. Sunday 03 June 2012
Check out at 04h00 and leave luggage with our staff in the reception area. Your luggage will be taken to your hotel in
Durban. Transport will be provided to the race start (journey time +/- 10 minutes) . After finishing the race please walk
to the Durban City Lodge where you will check in and stay for the next 2 nights. Relax! You deserve it !

Day 5. Monday 04 June 2012
Try and straighten knees ! Rest of the day at leisure.

Rooms have 1 or 2 beds, TV (MNET & selected DSTV), tea/coffee making facilities, safe, mini bar, air conditioning
and en suite bathroom with bath, separate shower, wc and washbasin. Golden Horse Casino Hotel has a swimming
pool, several bars, eateries and a casino.
